The Balearic Islands are sited in the Mediterranean Sea, just simply some miles off the east coast of Spain. There are four islands that composes the Balearics are Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera. Mallorca, is also known as Majorca. This name means lasting leisure, brilliant sunshine, elegant beaches and a merriment ambiance that are going to last for ever.

The collection of islands together forms the independent society of the Balearic Islands and constitutes Palma de Mallorca as the official capital. The official language is Catalan. This language is spoken on the islands with each having its unique accent, which also makes the inhabitants identifiable for their origin.

Ibiza is the place where night undoubtedly not sleeps and the people do gala all night long. The beaches with white sands are just wonderful. The mix of azure sea waters with these white sand beaches and the trees lynching down their branches creates a fantastic sight. The restaurants are just brilliant.

The range of food is colossal and the additions is made in such a way that eagerness never goes off. There are tiled streets with white structures around them. You will love to amble around in Ibiza. Ibiza has the entire thing to draw visitors from each group of people from rich to middle class or from young to old ones. It has everything to make your stay memorable.

Majorca is the prevalent of the four Islands. The number of the tourists first stays at this isle. Therefore it is always jam-packed with tourists. Due to this flood of massive number of visitors the nature has been put to some change. The glorious coast line is being replaced by the superb hotels to cater the needs of tourists.

Shopping complexes are growing in numbers to make the visitors fulfil their desires of shopping from this destination. This aspect has also strengthened the economy of the Majorca and of Balearics as well. It is also an incredible place to witness the local food and traditions.

Menorca is the second central atoll after Majorca. This island is perfect for people who like loneliness. There is no commotion like other islands of the Balearics. This island hosts very few tourists as disparity to other islands of the vicinity. This has made this Menorca Island a calm and neat place. This fact has also saved it from the pollution and the bad effects of mass tourism. So as a result it has retained its natural exquisiteness intact.

Formentera is also an island that has not yet been urbanised as Ibiza and Majorca. It still does not have the airport service therefore one has to journey through ferry or hydrofoil which runs from Ibiza to Formentera on daily basis. This island is also pure due to the fewer visitor numbers. The natural beauty is still conserved to witness the real Balearics grandeur. It is resolutely made controlled to save the island from being polluted. These are the reasons for the fact why so many people are booking a last minute holiday to Balearics.
