They look promising. I haven't tried either one of those, though. So, I can't personally recommend them.
I have stayed at the Strand Palace Hotel a couple of times. It's not cheap, but it's the cheapEST in the central area–it's about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Trafalgar Sq.
I have also personally stayed at a Comfort Inn. It's centrally located near Victoria Station and theatres. Don't let the web site pictures fool you, though. It's more basic than they show. Very drab and basic–old stained carpets and all of that. But, if you're staying a night or two, it's fair.

Try the hostels there are a number of sites that have accommodation bookings and show where they are located. I stayed in Euro Hostels in the UK and found them to be run professionally and were a comfortable place to stay. London is also a very easy city to get around if using both the tube and the bus services. You can use both with specialised day tickets for a reasonable cost. The tube is quicker but you get to see more on the buses.
Enjoy your time there and you will wish that you had longer. There is so much to see and do.

Hi people, Me and my fiancee will be in Budapest on 4-12 april because of a technical conference. Since we believe in couchsurfing soul and thinking that visiting a country is not just visiting the concrete walls of a bla bla star hotels in there but living with the habitants, we are looking for accomodation for 2 at most 3 days.
