If you have nests of bed bugs, eradicate and kill bed bugs swiftly.

The bugs in the mattress can multiply very quickly and is better not to have them in your mattress.

Bugs happen in your mattress, if the areas you sleep is unclean, or you have slept somewhere on vacation in a bed with someone who had slept there previously and was a carrier.

Killing these bugs from your mattress is a major inconvenience.

If you want peace of mind, then you have to learn to do this over the next few months.

To begin with, you want to be sure of not using very strong bug killer because they could do you even more harm than the bedbugs by leaving you with long-term allergies.

Going to a pest controller is a short term solution. It is very expensive and will not destroy the nests completely.

Go and buy four bundles of thick black plastic bags, to double bag linen and clothing items.

Strip the bed completely and put all the linen in the black bags, including duvet and cover.

Remove the infested mattress and wrap in a clear polythene bag leave it in the garden. If you have a lot of furniture remove that as well.

When you are in the process of stripping your bed make sure of using the black bags so you do not drop any bugs along the way in the rest of the house.

Do that to all the towels, any clothing and outer garments. If you have to make sure the whole wardrobe is washed.

Do all the washing in the big launderette washing machines. Make sure you buy plenty of disinfectant and use copious amounts in the wash.

Buy at least 20 bottles, they are so inexpensive and goes along way.

Avoid using the home washer, it is smaller and will take a lot longer to do everything. The laundry ones are bigger and water circulates more rapidly and freely.

Keeping all your laundry in separate piles, add many bottles of clothes bleach or disinfectant, wash on high temperature.

Dry you clothes twice in the dryer on very high heat. This will kill all bugs permanently.

Then fold the clothes neatly and put them in new plastic bags and seal them with some tape, so any remaining bugs suffocate. Avoid using the old bags in case of any lurking larvae.

Buy numerous can of wasp killer, slug and ant killing powder.

Spray your mattress from a distance with the insect repellent, especially the edges, that’s the place they linger.

Then thoroughly clean the whole of the bedroom, especially the tops of light switches, windows, doors and skirting boards.

Thoroughly steam cleanse any carpet and spread a thin layer of ant-powder on the carpet. This will take care of any remaining bugs.

Open all the windows and let the fumes escape. Then, make sure sweep up everything and have a good nights sleep in a clean bed. It is the best Spring Clean you will ever have.
