« Havana Hotels.   Tips for Planning a Beach Vacation on a Tight Budget »

There are only four more matches to go before the Confederations Cup draws to a close in South Africa on Sunday. After a hectic week of group stage football, the four semi finalists have been decided. Spain, the USA, South Africa and Brazil will be the teams trying to reach the final this weekend.

While the host country’s fans will definitely hope that their team can win the trophy, they have more realistic ambitions. South Africa will dare to dream and are now targeting a place in the finals. The odds of that happening will be low, but the players will give their all.

The team they will be up against in the second semi final will be the all conquering South Americans from Brazil. The team that everyone loves to support, Brazil have battered all in their path. They have impressed so much that their success has overshadowed that of the current European champions.

No one will dare to wager that South Africa has a chance against Brazil. The latter team are on a roll and results have turned in their favour for a couple of months now. Dunga has started to see results from his work with the players and every individual appears to be committed without any hint of disharmony.

The weakest team in the last four will have to be the United States. If not for a miraculous result against Egypt, the Americans would already have been on the next flight home. Instead, they have been rewarded with a match-up against the European champions Spain.

Another miracle will definitely be necessary if the Americans hope to get past Spain. Spain have swept aside every team before them with considerable ease in the past year since winning the European Championship. If not for the resurgence of Brazil, they would be grabbing all the headlines instead.

Everyone expects to see both Brazil and Spain meeting in the final to determine the best team in the world for the next year. There will be much at stake apart from pride and winners medals. Brazil have sought redemption for their last World Cup failure, while Spain want to show that their European triumph was no fluke.

It would also be a dream final for football fans worldwide if the two make their way to the final as expected. Both are synonymous with attacking flair and entertaining football. It can only be a perfect advertisement for the sport and something that might be repeated in the World Cup finals next year.
