Cheap Travel Around Cuba

by Jose Mauricio Maurette

You will find in this piece of writing some interest facts that will help you help you find cheap Cuba holidays. In the last 10 years or so Cuba has become a very expensive tourist destination and in these days of economic crisis the pennies count.

If you are thinking of travelling long distances in Cuba it could be a bit too expensive if you use private transfers. Taxi transfers or private transfers is what most of the travel agents selling Cuba itineraries will put on holiday packages quoted.

There is a way to safe hundreds of dollars. Allow me to introduce you to Viazul. Viazul is a coach company that has terminal in most of the Cuban locations that are worth seeing in your holidays to Cuba.

So let?s put some examples here so that you can appreciate the difference in price. Let?s say you ask your tour operator for a package including Havana and Trinidad. That simple request will add around 150 GBP to your package. Instead what I recommend is to ask for flights and accommodation only and then book separately a ticket from Havana to Trinidad which will cost you 20 GBP.

I hope you can appreciate how ridiculous the difference in price is. Now think how much you could safe if you were to go all around the island using this advice. You could be saving hundreds on pounds.

Viazul service is very punctual and the coaches are very comfortable. The only inconvenience is that it takes a bit longer compare to a taxi journey but hey we are taking about huge savings here.

The majority of the people that are considering travelling to Cuba do not know how large this island truly is. Cuba extends for over 1200 kms from east to west. Travelling from Pinar del Rio to Guantanamo can take about 18 hours driving.

While it is true that a Taxi will be the most comfortable way. Viazul is the next best thing. But in terms of prices nothing beats Viazul.
