An enormous area, Scotland has three major cities and the capital is Edinburgh. Edinburgh is a beautiful city and definitely worth a visit if you are going to be in the area. The other two major cities of Scotland are Dundee and Glasgow. Scotland is also comprised of hundreds of islands although some of them are quite large yet none of them are particularly populous.

Contrary to popular belief, England actually offer some of the finest holidays in Europe. While you certainly won’t be expecting so much sun and sand like you would in other holiday destinations, there are some particularly pleasant beach resorts in the United Kingdom and they are not too crowded either.
There are literally hundreds of great destinations in England. There are seaside resorts which are wonderful in the summer and very viable alternative destinations for a beach holiday. There are also many towns and counties which are famous for beautiful landscape in history. You can see such a diversity in culture and scenery that is particularly impressive by European standards.

There is a lot to do and see in this small island with a long history, and many destinations are very easy to reach by car, bus, plane or train.
