Liverpool’s last title success in English football came almost twenty years ago. It is hard to believe that the most successful English club would have to wait this long for their next triumph. But they might not have to wait too long now, considering the length of time they have started to spend at the summit of the English Premier League this season.

The Anfield club has not been able to avoid negative comments and the media waiting to pour cold water on their achievements. The latter has singled out the club’s poor home form for criticism, by reasoning that Liverpool will never become champions by playing badly at home.

It has been close to twenty years since Liverpool was last crowned the champions of English football. The wait has been a long and painful one for both club and supporters who have been brought up on a diet of success. But the club has been constantly at the top of the league this season and that has been encouraging talk of the dawn of a new, and trophy laden, era.
